I remember when we moved to Ithaca. My wife had just accepted a position at Cornell University. We bought our home sight unseen (from Wisconsin!) because we couldn’t find a short-term rental for our family circus of two adults, two children, two dogs, two cats and two cars.
We had never even set foot in Ithaca, and therefore relied heavily on a real estate agent to introduce us to the area and guide us (remotely) around town. She listened to our story, oriented us to various neighborhoods, and moved quickly to submit our offers -- ultimately getting us under contract in under ten days. Our home and neighborhood are perfect, and we don’t wish we were anywhere else.
For most of us, buying or selling a home is stressful. It's through this lens that I approach my work. I understand the role a REALTOR® can play as a guide; in translating a personal situation into a successful real estate transaction.
I am honored to be on The Jill Burlington Team at Warren Real Estate. Jill has been the #1-volume agent in our market for several years, and I am fortunate to have access to her deep experience and expert guidance, say nothing of the support of the largest and most respected brokerage in our area, Warren Real Estate, a local, family-owned company with a 65-year track record.
Prior to real estate, I was the general manager of a Spanish tapas restaurant in Madison, Wisconsin. I have also owned a traditional summer camp, raised Milking Devon cattle, developed affordable housing in New York City, and taught math at an orphanage in Bolivia.
My experience has taught me the importance of finding meaning in my work. Today, I am at Warren to make sure you get the home you want, because a home is not just a roof over your head. It's a safe place, the heart of family traditions, a gathering space for friends, membership in a neighborhood, and your largest financial asset.
I am active in the Ithaca community. I am an elected member of the Tompkins County Democratic Committee, representing the City of Ithaca's Third Ward; vice president of the Belle Sherman Elementary School PTA; member of the Housing Committee at Ithaca Welcomes Refugees; coach for the Ithaca Youth Bureau's K-2 girls lacrosse program; and a regular blood donor. Within the real estate community, I am a member of the Fair Housing & DEI Committee at the Ithaca Board of REALTORS®, and I represent the Ithaca Board of REALTORS® on the DEI Committee at the New York State Association of REALTORS®.
I graduated from Connecticut College with a BA in economics where I captained the lacrosse team. I am originally from Pennsylvania, near Harrisburg. I am thrilled to be in the Northeast, and eager to help you find a new home in the Finger Lakes.
